xxi.

the tears that flow far from your eyes are natural.
in them we see reflected the torrent
of emotions welling up from the over-brimming
of an infinite ocean, spilling over the edges
of our spherical world and into the greater
cosmos, expanding to fill its container,
expanding to overflow, threatening the
constantly changing boundaries of a universe we’ll never
fully know, surging forth with the force of unceasing riptides,
of one moon and many moons’ inability to
constrain these feral waters rushing on, rushing onwards
to the ends of time and space, endlessly, rapturously, laughing
at the notion of restraint, an incapability, an impossibility,
an incessant roiling raging rushing thing
comprised of so many other things
so many others so many pushing towards the
calamitous surface to break
open the boundary of a topside to surpass the breaking
point of all higher
orders, defying the logical, replacing itself as
its depleted state commands,
clamouring towards a never-present peak until finally, finally,
finally, sweet release, oh, the pressure alleviates! and we are reminded
that the tears flowing from your eyes are natural. they are of nature.
we cry for ourselves, not the dead, dear.
